It took me so long when I first came here to GameRenders it took me a long time to understand what these all meant. I also hear a lot of question regarding this topic, so I decided to post a little guide that can be easily accessed and viewed.

Here is the breakdown of the following rights.

    Full Rights (FR)
    Posting Rights (PR)
    Learning Rights (LR)
    Creator Rights (CR)

    Note before reading:
    Creator Rights (CR)
    -----------------------
*These are the rights that the creator of the piece gets to keep even after selling Full Rights.

    You CAN:
    Learn from the PSD.
    Say you made it. (Anywhere)
Enter it into competitions. Ex. SOTW, LAOTM, etc. (Anywhere) - Also known as "Classing rights"
Post it on a site that suggests you made it. (Ex. deviantART.)
Wear it as your signature. (Anywhere)
    Rip layers from the PSD.

    You CAN'T:
    Sell it. (Anywhere)
Sell/Give away LR/PR to others. (See learning rights)

    Allowed:
Fred can no longer give away PR/LR even though he has FR because the creator specified it.

If you have any problems or questions about rights, just PM one of the admins or mods and they'd be happy to assist you.

Well, that is not entirely true.

    Keep in mind.

THIS LIST IS ONE PERSON'S VIEWS. WHEN BUYING YOU ARE NOT NESCECARILY BOUND TO THESE RULES. MAKE SURE YOU DISCUSS THE EXACT PERMISSIONS WHEN BUYING SOMETHING. THESE RULES ARE NOT THE STANDARD RULES ON GR OR ANY SITE. MAKE SURE YOU ASK!

    You should add that.

Should probably be pinned in the marketplace too ^_^

Nice info.. I saw somewhere someone mentioned RR, or ripping rights.. I've only seen it mentioned, never actually used though.. Think its saying that the PSD or whatever can be used as a resource to create your own stuff from.. I could be wrong though, dont quote me on that lol :D

Yeah, that seems kind of pointless to add. I've never seen it, so it'd be a pretty rare case.

lol, Heres what I don't understand, if a creator of a tag gives the seller "ripping rights", why should you(generally speaking) care?
Anyways, this is helpful to new members, should be pinned in the marketplace sections. :D

    Nice info.

So if you sell something PR, you can give it away LR but not sell it LR? (clarifying)
