Well, you see. I've been wanted to get in to gaming.. And I've had some reccomendations for AlienWare notebooks. I was wondering, does anyone have any reccomendation on which to get (if I do get one), or have any objections or reasons as to why I should not purchase one?

    Notebooks: http://alienware.com/product_pages/notebook_all_default.aspx

I already have two desktops, so I'm looking for something portable. If anyone also has any more AlienWare notebooks that're out, please give me a link to them.

    Thanks
    - Spek

I'll likely get flamed but a Dell XPS laptop might be a better buy.

Alienware is the performance devision of Dell now that Dell own them, IMO. XPS is about the same buy as XPS. ROFL

So, I would say if you have the money, and you want to game on a Laptop, sure I guess. That or look for a top line Acer laptop (might save you some money).

I've seen Acer in the PC World magazines, for some reason, didn't like 'em much. I wonder.. Do they sell AlienWare's in stores like BestBuy and CircuitCity, or do I need to order them online? O_O

My brother has a dell xps m1710. If you got an alienware with all the same stuff, the alienware will be more expensive. The XPS isnt as overpriced as an alienware. But this laptop is amazing. It runs every game, max settings, very very smoothly. Its really good for gaming.

Alienware is pretty good stuff if you have the money. If not, just stick with Dell.

Okay.. you go try building your own laptop, see how long it takes you to find the parts and to fit it all into that little case.

Alienware is nice but a lot overpriced. Dell XPS is good but don't expect it to be highest quality because you know.. its dell.

Try and get an Acer, they're good.
