I'm a PC lover, but one little problem...

I've had this prob before, and it shuts down my firefox, Opera, or anything that tries to reach the internet.... Also, I can not see my other computer on the network.

Is this some virus that is stopping this from running, or what?

The only way I could fix this before is if I re-format and start fresh...

Edit: It only shuts down when i try to download a file to my computer.. this confuses me lots... :(

I checked google, ran Avast virus check with the latest definitions, no viruses. I'll try some of my Spyware killers, see if that works.

I had this happen before, and i just restarted my computer, and it isnt coming up... yet it showed up a few weeks ago to, but since then it didn't do it... Man, I cant wait till Vista comes out of beta...

Me either, the last time I formatted my pc was because I had to..There was like a corrupted file in the C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32 folder so windows wouldn't log in. But now I do Spyware scans everyday, Do Virus scans every week, Check for updates every week and if I find missing files I just download them and drag them into the windows folder.

Get a Registry or PC cleaner i think one of your files might have been damaged :D

ONLY DO FORMAT ON YOUR LAST RESORT - you guys just go straight to formatting although it removes the problem you lose EVERYTHING with it if not backed up.

26 infected files Isn't alot...Spyware comes in huge ammouts and can go up to 600 +..Mine also said something about C:/LOCALS~1/Temp/Wr5vest/somethingblahblah.dmp It just means there's something corrupted in your registery.
