CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 125W Motherboard: BIOSTAR TForce TF720 A2+ AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 720a ATX AMD PSU: Enhance PS-E5150GH ^^^this is the one i want to keep as much as possible if not this one instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817182017 Memory: OCZ Fatal1ty Edition 2 x 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 GFX card: Galaxy GeForce 9600 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Case: Rosewill R230-P-BK Black 0.5mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower DVD/CD burner: Sony Optiarc 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe The HD isn't in here since I've already got one few weeks ago. This is my first PC that I'll be building from scratch so I need some suggestions/better parts especially the mobo. I really don't want to exceed 500$ after tax on this one.
please list NAMES in the future... my suggestions - tricore phenome $120 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819103648 it's faster at stock, uses less power and has an extra core... the enhance ENP-GH is SUPERIOR to that POS rosswell PSU(rated power output and REAL power output aren't the same, enhance's GNP-GH line is solid, as are most corsair and silverstone PSUs[silverstone buy's units from enhance and rebrands them] which I personally suggest) FYI I assume you already have it, correct, if not, if you look around the ENP-GH actually goes for around $70ish, not 100. if you don't have a PSU at this time though, the one I'm listing below is more than enough. http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=PS-E5140GH as for the video card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102822 it's faster, uses less power and is probably beter suited towards future games... else http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814140095 which is about on par with the 9600GT, but uses less power and is cheaper FYI if you look around 9600GTs go for around $50 FYI
Not even gonna bother giving advice as I don't want to open 10 tabs and go through them just to figure out what you're after.
edited first post. @xlink - yes, I am currently using the enhance PSU right now. I guess that's a good thing since that knocks off 50$ so I can get a better cpu and/or gfx card. Though someone recommended this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817702010 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817341010 What about this mobo for the phenom II http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813153141 This one has a combo deal with the cpu that knocks off 30$, so basically the same price as above. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128378 edit: another cpu suggestion made on a different forum: AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache much better (and cheaper) option than the 6000+?
These are old, so the total prize is gonna be different and there are surely better parts out there now: http://www.techspot.com/article/25-afforda...-gaming-system/ http://www.techspot.com/article/34-core2du...ing-under-1000/
maximum pc has actually done an article of building the a gaming pc that can play crysis at 40fps for $500!!!!!! http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/...ay_crysis_40fps
For the cpu your better off getting the 6400+, .2ghz more per core for $10 extra. Better off getting a cheaper burner as litescribe is pretty much dead (uless you wanna fork out gratuitous amounts for the disks
