I have a good computer and an old computer that I'm looking to replace it without emptying out my life savings . What is the best I can get for 200-300 USD? Or at least what do you think I could get for something around that price range?
umm I'd suggest putting a little more into it, like 350 at the least... at fry's they sometimes sell specials. I have seen a 3.0 GHZ P4 with 256mb DDR ram for like 300$ you could then buy a 512MB strip of ram and swap it out and get an OK system for like 350$
Where is fry's? And I'm not looking for a really good PC. Just one that at least has this: Windows XP Pentium4 1.4GHz or higher 256 MB 3D graphics board 32 MB VRAM (Direct 3D, NVIDIA GeForce 3, ATI Radeon 8500) Those are the recommended requirements for PSO:BB.
I suggest you buy only a new cpu, and use your old modem and speakers to save money. You could probably customize one on dell.com to your standards. If your into Dells, that is.
You're in luck because I have just read a few ariticles on building cheap pc's. $500 Dollar Gaming PC [LINK] $126.95 Basic, Very Basic Comp [LINK] So, how much do ya love me? ^_^

I would get a - AMD Sempron 64 2800+ 754 pin - $76 JetWay K8M8MS Socket 754 - $49 Refurbished 9600 - approx. $65 CORSAIR ValueSelect 512MB - $42 THERMALTAKE TR2 - $38.99 Total: $270.99 You can probably use your old case, monitor, keyboard, mouse, cd. Then Figure out a 80gb hard drive. That thing will suprisingly play games too. prices from Newegg.
