New Video Card

    Im gonna buy this
    and i was wondering if it would be compatible with my pc

    Intel Pentium 4 1.70GHz
    256MB Ram
    ASUS P4V533-MX Motherboard

    listen to the man... you might actually want to upgrade your ram if youre doing any gaming..

    the processor and the amount of ram have nothing to do with compatability.

    here are some facts though, you need more ram.
    run cpuz and look at tha mainboard tabm if you have an AGP port it will be noted there. if not you're screwed.


    if you bought from dell, there is a 90% chance or higher that you're screwed. Dell uses very poor quality parts on it's systems in an attempt to make it's customers purchase new systems more often.

    yea ure processor and ram are horrible...and dell is propieratary...i would get an amd 3500 system with a gb of ram and a 6600gt...itll do pretty much all u need

    x800GTO is cheaper performs better and OCs better...

    how do we know the person even has the money for a major upgrade though. Their CPU might be ---- and hardly capable of handling any of todays games on low, but it still can.

    if the person has rambus ram though a complete system overhaul is due though.

    ya, the important thing is to check if u\you have an agp slot and then if your lucky enought to have a pci-express slot find a car that uses that not agp 8x :)

    i can guarantee you that PCI-e did not exist 3-4 years ago...


    google says it has an AGP port.

    guys, im not poor, its just that im new to gaming... before my computer was just used for like hmwk and ----...

    and im buying this from my friend for 100 bucks, so the price isnt a ripoff, and ill get some more ram tonight

    Any 'good' GPU with bottleneck with that 1.7GHz pos.

    Yeah, you need more Ram, and the one you was buying is very expensive for what it is. :blink:

    It's amazing Bestbuy can even get away with selling that card for more then a superoverclocked 7900gt.
