    BreakOut wins.

    It's just freakin magic lol.

    I know I tried changing the color settings to "monitor" before, several times, with no effect. Apparently I guess I needed to use Adobe Gamma to create the profile? I dunno I just deleted the *.icm (or imc) file it created lol. But I guess it somehow fixed the "monitor" option in PS.

    Anywho, props to breakout. $20 if you want. Just PM your PayPal.

    EDIT: alright, this is freakin bull----. The color displays correctly, but when I save it's too dark now..... WTFFFFF

    I've just about given up on this now.... think a reformat is coming up... f'ing Adobe. It'll be a cold day in hell before I buy anything (else?) from them.

    Try making the color profile you save it as the same as the one you see it as ;)

    Torturously close. =/

    Works if I save as .jpg .psd .psb .tiff

    But if I select .png or any of the others the checkbox next to the monitor color profile is grayed out... And the result becomes the "too dark".

    .png never works for me, reduces the quality too much...

    I'm trying to think of anything else...

    Maybe a layer of white on overlay set at 3% opacity?

    Need a normal white layer of about 16% opacity -_-;;;

    I thought PNG is lossless no? And JPEG is the one that loses quality. =x

    Solution!!!! Problem fixed.

    sRGB Color Space Profile.icm got corrupt for some reason. Apparenly my Photoshop just defaults to this. When I File -> Save as... and cannot check any boxes in Color Settings (aka saving as PNG) the image apparently saves with this color profile.

    After I used Adobe Gamma I overwrote this color profile and everything's working again.

    This was one long, hard lesson. Spanning three forums and probably 6-8 hrs of messing with stuff. This is the first time I've ever seen any computer file simply become corrupt. Maybe my hard drive is dying or something... -.-

    BreakOut, since you're the main contributor heh if you want I can give you a $15/20 share. Just PM me your PayPal.
