    guys me and my friends are going to be playing at a youth group in a few week this will be the first time ive performed in public has anyone got any ways for a bass player new to performing to get over nerves

    try hyping yourself up, hopefully that will override the nerves, other than that all i can say is just jump into it, you'll get a rush and feel well good after it haha, nah it will e cool just think of yourself as really good :D

    when i want to perform, i just say to myself "none of these ppl are paying any attention. besides, half of these losers dont know how to (insert performance. in this case is play bass guitar)"

    Just be cool, everyone plays their perferred instrument, and not all play the bass guitar, so just go out jam it and call it a day.

    After the first 4-5 notes, you should be ok, the start is really hard, but then you get the beat and you forget about everyone and its like a normal repetition xD.

    Before I had my first gig, I took some ummm "recriational drugs"... but then again I'm a singer/growler so it might make it harder for you to play.

    Singers and growlers for the win, but bass player rock also, just take deep breath and go for it man, you have to have some sort of nerves or you'll just look bored :P
